“Put The Attention On Jesus”

There was a time in my marriage over the last few years that I had completely lost focus of how wonderful and amazing my wife is… I couldn’t help but see all of her flaws, how she nagged and fussed etc. It appeared as if that’s ALL she did… where did things change or had my perception changed? I wondered when did she ever NOT FUSS :-)?

Then I received a word from a lady at my church that had no idea the weight of what she was saying to me…"the moment that you take your eyes off of Jesus, is the moment that you see everything that is wrong around you" hmmm, so with my eyes on Jesus instead of seeing what was wrong, I saw how He was molding our marriage.

I then realized what had happened… my eyes had come off of everything that is Good and Perfect and Wonderful, only to see exactly what the enemy wanted me to see…
So with that… there’s this song that God has given me called "Put The Attention On Jesus" I believe it’s one of the most profound messages that God has ever given me because it speaks to the direction and focus of the church and body as a whole.. how we’ve gone after entertainment as our drawing card as opposed to the power that’s in believing and receiving Jesus into our hearts and allowing Him to live in and demonstrate through us. I believe that every thing that we need is in Jesus… and He desperately wants to do exploits through us… I figure we might as well Put The Attention On Jesus, He’s on His way back any way..

    Isnt it interesting how quickly we can be weakened when we take our attention off of Jesus? This testimony speaks to me in so many different instances in my life. I have learned that when you put Jesus first he truly will take care of the rest, but the minute you step ahead of him on put him on the back burner you get weakened confused angry overwhelmed etc. You even start to point the finger at others when the whole time its us. God bless you brother. I cant wait to we have a great discussion on the Mighty Awesome God we serve once again. Stay connected with him. He is our source and yes I believe Truly that he is on his way back.

    This was right on time for me! I’ve been overwhelmed lately trying to figure things or when I should be focusing on Jesus, and trusting him to figure it out. I have to take my hands off of my financial concerns, my career concerns, and the circumstances of life, and cast my cares on him, knowing that he’s concerned about my concerns and will carry the load if I simply put the attention on him! AMEN!

    Look at you in your young life! There is no revelation without relationship. Stay tuned in, hooked up, plugged into God. When I find it difficult to love I ask Him to love through me as only He can then I know it will be done the way He wants. If you had traditional wedding vows the minister probably said something like this:
    “she was not made out of his head to rule over him; nor out of his feet to be trampled on by him; but out of his side to be equal with him; under his arm to be protected; and near his heart to be beloved.” When God made woman He made her to be man’s helper and companion. “I will make for him a help, as his counter-part,” said God.
    I for one am enjoying your journey and your perspective is refreshing. This made me think of Philippians 4:8 which says:
    Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.
    I learned an acronym for the word JOY many years ago that is Jesus, Others, Yourself. That has truly been the way to experience it and stay in it. Love you and what you do little bro. 🙂
